ChapterAddict

ChapterAddict Well I reckon I am just a chapter addict plain and simple. One more chapter is a lie I tell myself daily.

I stay reading in general, almost anything, from thrillers, crime, legal drama, espionage, and true crime till way too late at night.

Some books end, but they still leave something open in you. That kind of story sticks because it makes you feel like your own ain’t finished yet.

Some books do not just tell a story. They reach in, find a piece of you, and hand it back before you even knew it was there.

All six books in the Justin Wright series by Rob Kaufman. Dark, twisted, and the kind of suspense that keeps dragging you deeper with every book. Rob Kaufman, Author

Some thrillers keep you guessing. This one keeps pulling the rug out from under you until the very end. The deeper Detective Porter dug, the darker the truth became. Twists, tension, and a finale that made the whole trilogy worth the ride.

I got this audiobook from the Hoopla app, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This one felt like getting thrown into a storm that just kept getting darker the deeper it went. J.D. did not hold back at all with this finale. Every secret, every twist, and every buried piece of the past came crashing together in a way that kept me completely hooked.

What started as another hunt for a killer turned into something way more personal for Detective Porter and everybody involved. The connection between the murders in Chicago and South Carolina had me trying to piece things together the whole time, and every time I thought I had it figured out, the story flipped everything upside down again.

Bishop stayed one of the creepiest and most fascinating characters in this whole trilogy. You never fully know what is coming next with him, and that is what made this book so hard to stop listening to. The hospital scenes, the corruption, the tension between everybody, all of it kept the pressure high from beginning to end.

The audiobook narration really pulled me into the story too. Some scenes honestly felt like they were playing out like a movie in my head.

If you read the first two books, you absolutely need to finish this trilogy because this book ties everything together while still managing to leave you sitting there thinking about it after it is over.

I give it a 4 outta 5 catfish!

This one right here digs into fear from every angle possible, and it does it in a way that gets under your skin without needing cheap tricks. Fifteen years later and Justin and Michael are both carrying their own weight, their own scars, and trying to help people who are barely holding themselves together themselves. That alone gave this story a heavier feel than some of the earlier books.

The stuff with Mandy hit hard too. It added a real emotional punch hanging over everything the whole time. You could feel that pressure sitting on the family every step of the way, and it made the quieter moments matter just as much as the suspense.

What I liked most was how real the fear felt in this one. Not just fear of danger, fear of sickness, fear of loss, fear of death, or fear of your own mind turning against you. Rob did a good job showing how people can unravel little by little while still trying to look normal on the outside.

The pacing stayed tight, the tension kept building, and the mind games kept me hooked all the way through. Every time things started calming down, something else crept in sideways and pulled me right back into it.

If you have been following the Justin Wright books, this one absolutely delivers. It feels more personal, more emotional, and honestly one of the strongest in the series.

I give it a 5 outta 5 catfish!

Some books create suspense. This one makes you feel it.
Scared pulls you into a story filled with fear, uncertainty, family struggles, and mind games that keep the pressure on from start to finish. One of the strongest Justin Wright books I've read so far.

Some books do more than tell a story. They find the quiet places in you and make you feel seen.

That’s one of the best parts of reading. We can all open the same book and still walk away carrying something different.
