We hope with the 100th people find more potatoes! Please post if you find one!

🥳🥳🥳 You are here because you found a potato at Knoebels. The potato was placed here in honor of Joe.

⁉️⁉️ Who was Joe? ⁉️⁉️
Joe, Joseph, Dad, Gramps, camper, Big Joe… this guy had a lot of names! He knew a lot of people, and some of them had their own names for him. The names always stuck!

Joe was definitely one of a kind! He loved a lot of things: God, the Eagles 🦅 🏈, the Phillies ⚾️, his dogs, his 1934 truck, fishing, the beach, but above all, he loved his family. He loved his family and loved to be at Knoebels with his family.

He was pretty tough. Joe was blessed to receive a liver transplant in 2016. This past April, he would have celebrated 10 years with his new liver. His new liver allowed him to meet 2 more grandchildren, attend the graduations of two other grandchildren, catch swim meets, races, track meets, games, and a few dance shows!

He celebrated almost 10 extra anniversaries with his wife. They would have been married 48 years on June 3rd of this year.
🤵🏼‍♂️👰‍♂️💍

Joe was married to Carol. They have three children: Diane (Mike), Joe (Amy), and Jackie. Joe also has two brothers, Eddie and Tommy, a sister, and one cousin, Henny. There are 6 grandchildren: Jacob, Joseph, Jonathan, Beau, Abigail, and Rosa. He was also blessed with too many friends to count.

🥔🥔 Why a potato? 🥔🥔
Our husband/Dad/gramps definitely loved food, but there was never a trip to Knoebels without fresh-cut French fries and Tri-taters! Other French fries were always compared to those at Knoebels - of course, others were, at best, a close second!

We come all summer long, but once a year, we come as an entire family and invite anyone who can join us. We reserve the birthday cake pavilion inside the park. Everyone takes a chance to tour the park, ride some rides, and grab favorite foods. It’s a busy day, but we also spend a lot of time sitting at the tables talking, laughing, listening, and catching up. This year is a little different.

A few months ago, in February, Joe decided he was tired of fighting. We thought we were ready, but really, is anyone ever ready?

Today is our first day back in the park without Joe. I’m sure there will be some tears shed, but there will also be a lot of laughs and love shared.

🥳🥳We are thrilled you found a potato. Please post the location you found it. Pictures are welcome and encouraged! If you found it on 6/20/26, stop by the birthday pavilion to say hello. Oh, and if you have a chance, grab some fries. 🍟
