Figure Drawing at Posed, model: Bryanna.

I am so pleased with my work this evening, and the amazing group of people I get to hang out with and do art alongside.

Last night's event at the Franksville Craft Beer Garden was awesome, except for the unexpected torrential downpour.
That is part of life when you vend outdoors. You check the weather, plan ahead, and act quickly.
Unfortunately, I missed a couple marks yesterday. Somehow not seeing the possibility for rain, and a few other details that piled up on me.
So, while I didn't lose any of my original art, and all of my equipment made it home safe, I sadly had a total loss of my remaining stickers. I may offer them at a massive discount if anyone is interested. But otherwise I don't anticipate having the ability to replace them before my next few events.

I will go into the holiday season in November with limited stickers. Thanks to everyone who scooped some up yesterday before the skies opened on us. I will see you again September 13th at Make Art MKE.

One artist's take on 5 things worth your money.
Figure drawing
Art museums
Concerts
Art supplies
Nature walks

And none of these will make or break you as an artist. They can make you more dynamic, but it's not guaranteed. You might be uncomfortable with nudity, or the stillness of an art museum, or the crowds of a concert. But one thing I will always stand by is getting out in nature, spending time with yourself and your people.
All you have to do to be an artist is make art. Everything else is a bonus.

I know the key to making it on social media as an artist these days means sharing more of yourself. But if I do that, you'll end up with the most unflattering angles of the weirdest girl you ever met. And it's 50/50 as to whether you'll get cheesy pop music or the most graphic tv fantasy series available.
So enjoy! and if you didn't enjoy, try harder!

I'm working on some new art AND making my space more functional AND enjoying my summer. I cant wait to share more of my paintings when they're ready.

How are you enjoying your summer?

Life on art
What it looks like for me is time in nature, time creating, and time with the people who light me up most.
I've found the biggest growth as an artist and as a woman when I made intentional time for hiking and figure drawing. But along with that, creating art from a place of deep emotion and meditation.
I love painting, I love seeing my progress, and I am so excited to see how I grow in the future.

My desk is a mess!
I am a lifetime sufferer of being a Clutter Bug. But just because that's how it's been doesn't mean that's how it has to be.
I have a plan to have this space purged and clean if not fully organized by the end of this weekend.
My heart and soul miss my paints and brushes and I owe it to myself to make this space functional. Maybe even pretty.
And even though this is about cleaning a room, it is more a part of a whole journey I've been on the past year or two: loving myself enough to give me what I need, changing things that just don't work for me anymore, and honoring the life I'm creating in the process. Much of my life has changed, and it often starts by just cleaning a desk.

The garden gate from the Cottage Collection feels like the beginning and end. The place where adventures start, and the path you use to come home.
It is a joy to bring these things to life in watercolor.
The quiet evenings spent looking out at the flowers, listening to the crickets. The porch swing to read in while the rain slows everything down. This place of rest, of pause while you spend a little while just letting time slip by, no rush or hurry.
I enjoy painting places like this which hold hope and nostalgia for a moment that is fleeting. The kind of thing you dont appreciate as a child, but feel deep gratitude as an adult that you were able to experience again.
That is what this collection of mini paintings is. And the core of what my new work circles around. Home. Hope. Gratitude.
