Daisies in a pottery planter on a sidewalk that I saw while in Woodbury, Georgia shopping with my daughter.
I thought that they were so beautiful that I just had to paint them.
I changed the pot and painted a flow blue design with birds and wheat stalks.
This picture does not do this painting justice. I think it’s my favorite of all my paintings so far.

I saw these flowers a while ago while in Woodbury, Georgia shopping with my daughter.
I thought that they were so beautiful that I just had to paint them.
I changed the pot and painted a flow blue design with birds and wheat stalks.
This picture does not do this painting justice. I think it’s my favorite of all my paintings so far.

A dear friend, Mike Mckensey asked if I would paint this special landscape for him. The photo was taken by his son Troy while on a hunting trip near Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, along the North Platte River.

The bare winter trees are cottonwoods, standing quietly against the cold morning sky. What looks like a low “wall” in the front is actually a camouflaged duck blind, where the hunters waited patiently for ducks to come into range.

When this photo was taken, the temperature was minus 12 degrees. Troy said they wore as many layers as possible trying to keep warm!

I tried to capture that peaceful but biting cold morning — the warm glow of the sunrise against the stark winter landscape.
It was such an honor to paint this for Mr Mike.

I’ve always loved the way oranges look piled into a pottery bowl. 🍊
This watercolor was inspired by a childhood memory, especially around Christmastime. My mother would set out a large platter of mixed nuts with nutcrackers and a sturdy pottery bowl filled with oranges.

The colors were warm, the textures simple, and the scent was unforgettable—fresh citrus mixed with the cozy feeling of home. That feeling is what I wanted to capture here: quiet, nostalgic, and full of warmth.
