What a beautiful place to have a paint party! Thank you Friends Of Holston Heritage Museum for inviting us to paint our Barn Quilts with you! Ladies, you did amazing! I love all the different colors and patterns! We can't wait to come back in October! Be watching for the next project and date coming soon!

Well, we went to check out the art at the fair last night! Addy put in two pieces this year and Creed put in one....they all three got ribbons! Addy got 1st place in mixed media for ages 9-12 yr olds, 3rd place in acrylic for 9-12 yr olds, and Creed got 2nd place in acrylic for 6-8 yr olds. They were so excited and I'm so proud of them! I also put in five pieces this year and got two 2nd place ribbons, one in the category of still life and the other in seascape. I'm very grateful because this really pushes me to work on my own creativity. If you want to check it out when you visit the Appalachian Fair this year, they're in the home & farm building. There are some amazingly beautiful things entered this year!

I have so many things to tell you, but first, I wanted to show a little peek of what you might see at the Appalachian Fair in the Home and Farm Building this week! These are two pieces that my grandkids were working on that got entered into the youth contests. I have a few pieces entered, too. I'll update you when I go see them myself. That's how you find out if you placed...they don't tell you ahead of time...I think that kind of makes it even more fun! There's more I want to share, but I'll save it for later! 😉

It's voting time! There were four storm drain art pieces completed this year! This ones mine, but the other three are awesome, too! They're doing a little contest so all of you can get involved and to help spread awareness about keeping our water clean while brightening up our town! Well, I've had several people ask and I've been a little behind on posting, but here's my progress on the storm drain art! I finally finished Friday! Be watching for a post soon because there'll be a fun contest where you all will get to vote for your favorite storm drain art of 2026! Thanks for all of your encouragement during this project...it was HARD and HOT and very different than painting on canvas...lol! I wanted to give up, but I knew you all were rooting for me and I did learn alot through the process so I'm very thankful for the opportunity and the support from my family and all of you!
