Real talk: could you actually vacation with your friends?

Everyone loves the idea of a friends trip… until one person wants rope drop and another wants to sleep in and drink coffee in peace.

That’s why I love places like Disney and Universal for friend trips. Everyone can do their own thing, meet back up later, and nobody feels like they’re “ruining the plan.”

Friends trips hit different when there’s flexibility built in.

Let’s normalize slower Disney days. ☂️

Not every vacation day needs to be rope drop to fireworks. Sometimes the real magic is:
– guaranteed shade
– a comfy chair
– snacks within arm’s reach
– and not fighting for pool chairs at 7am

Whether it’s a pool cabana, water park seating, or just building in actual rest time — having a home base makes a huge difference, especially with kids.

Umbrella Day feels like a good reminder that Disney can be relaxing too.

There’s something about Disney that feels like coming home in a way no other destination does.

For me, it’s the nostalgia — walking down Main Street with my kids and realizing I’m now making the same memories I grew up loving. It’s the details, the music, the feeling that time slows down just a little once you’re there.

It’s not just about rides. It’s about family, history, and sharing something meaningful with the people you love most.

Fun Disney throwback — Disney California Adventure officially opened on February 8, 2001. 🎉

And honestly? She’s had one of the best glow ups in Disney history.

My family and I just visited in July, and Cars Land was hands-down our favorite. The music, the colors, the way it lights up at night, Kennedy was obsessed… and I may or may not have been too. 😅

From Cars Land to Pixar Pier to Avengers Campus, DCA has gone from “half-day park” to “okay, we’re staying longer than planned.”

So now I’m curious —

The EPCOT Cookie Stroll is basically Disney saying, “Here… treat yourself six times.” 🍪✨
You buy five cookies around World Showcase, get your stamps, and then boom — bonus cookie.
It’s like a holiday cookie exchange but nobody has to bake (bless).

These cookies are huge, so bring a buddy… or don’t. I support your choices.

Let’s be honest… planning a big family Disney trip is basically an Olympic sport.
Everyone has opinions. Everyone has a preferred week, a preferred resort, and a preferred level of “I’m not walking that much.” 😂

My best advice?
✨ Get the decision-makers in early
✨ Compare calendars before emotions get involved
✨ Know a ballpark budget
✨ And have someone neutral (hi, me 👋) to keep the peace

EPCOT during the holidays just hits different.
The Voices of Liberty are pure goosebumps, and the Candlelight Processional is one of the most meaningful things Disney does all year.

It’s beautiful, emotional, and yes — wildly popular.
If you want a guaranteed seat, those dining packages are your best friend.

Hogsmeade is basically stuck in eternal winter… which honestly feels like a flex. ❄️
Snowy rooftops, cozy vibes, Butterbeer on repeat. It gives Christmas morning energy all year long.

If you’re a Potter fan, this land is a must.
If you’re not a Potter fan… this land will turn you into one. 😂

Cars Land during the holidays is honestly one of the cutest things Disney has ever done.
It’s like Radiator Springs said, “Let’s decorate… but make it auto parts aesthetic.”

Holiday overlays, tire wreaths, air filter garland, Santa Mater — it’s all perfection.
I swear the Imagineers had too much fun with this one.

If you could only visit ONE land decorated for the holidays… would you pick Cars Land?
