Celebrate children and reading at the Library! Teatro Sin Fronteras will present their illustrated book Codex Miquiztli in English, Spanish, and Nahuatl.

Create your own Codex inspired by Aztec artists and enjoy educational activities with our community partners. Food provided. Teatro Sin Fronteras is a multilingual arts company. Their work seeks to celebrate the diverse cultures, history, and voices of Mexican-Americans. All ages welcome.

Join us on Saturday, April 11 from 12:00-2:00pm at the Cepeda Branch Library! Cepeda Library is in East Austin at 7th and Pleasant Valley (651 N Pleasant Valley Rd).

Sรกbados en Familia is a free kidsโ€™ cultural arts and crafts program for ALL AGES, delivered by the ESBMACC at libraries all over Austin. Families with kids of all ages can participate for free. A hands-on art project or activity follows the bilingual story read-along.

Teatro Sin Fronteras is a multilingual arts company based in the U.S.โ€”Mexico Borderlands. Their work in print and performance seeks to celebrate the diverse cultures, history, and voices of Mexican-Americans. They have produced multilingual performances across the Southwest and recently published Codex Miquiztli, their first illustrated book.

Participants will follow along with the storytime and then they will get to make their own codices!

Join us for the launch of Codex Miquiztli, an illustrated storybook about the Indigenous origins of Dรญa de los Mu***os. Written in English, Spanish, and Nahuatl, this book for young audiences follows a young poet who journeys to Mictlan, the Aztec Underworld, in search of a young warrior.

You can pick up your own handcrafted copy of Codex Miquiztli outside of the Mexican American Cultural Center during the El Paso Dรญa de los Mu***os Festival & Parade, or stop by the MACC Dance Studio for storytime readings of this multilingual book for young audiences!
