Thank you to our friends at The Press of Atlantic City for sharing the story of Phil and Phillis.

A few fun facts about the famous duo watching over our park:

⚾️ Before the Phillie Phanatic, there was Phil and Phillis
📅 The two served as the official Phillies mascots from 1971–1979
🔔 During every Phillies home run at Veterans Stadium, Phil would swing his bat toward the Liberty Bell, bump Phillis backward, and trigger a cannon blast and American flag reveal
😮 Each mascot weighs about 5,000 pounds
❤️ We gave them a new home in 1981, and they’ve been making families smile here for more than 40 years
🪑 The seats beside them are original seats from The Vet, making it a fun nostalgic stop for Phillies fans of all ages

We love having these special pieces of baseball history right here in our park for generations of families to discover, reminisce over, and enjoy together. Go Phils!

The final school bells are ringing and Lil Red Schoolhouse says summer starts NOW! Celebrate the end of the year with rides, splash pad adventures, sweet treats, and a full day in the sun and shade.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Families visiting are invited to stop by our Celebrate America garden featuring a commemorative eagle display created as part of our America 250 tribute.
