Update on Doggie Paddle Days:
For many years, Doggie Paddle Days have been a fun and much-loved way to close out the summer season at Pelican Bay Aquatic Center. We know how much our community, and especially our four-legged guests, have enjoyed this tradition.
As part of the recent improvements to Pelican Bay, the facility now features a new Myrtha pool liner.
While this new system represents an important investment in the quality and longevity of the facility, the liner material is not designed to withstand the potential impact of dogs’ claws. Allowing dogs into the pool could result in punctures, tears, or other damage to the new surface.
Because of this, Pelican Bay will no longer be able to host Doggie Paddle Days in the pool.
We recognize that this will be disappointing for those who have made the event part of their end-of-summer tradition. This was not a decision made lightly, but protecting the community’s investment in the renovated facility and ensuring the pool remains in excellent condition for years to come must be our priority.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we continue to care for and improve Pelican Bay Aquatic Center.
