The Edinboro Lake Lantern Festival was a great success for the second year in a row! We are still waiting on the last couple of food truck donations, but we plan to donate approximately $8,000 to the Edinboro Food Pantry.
Shane and I want to sincerely thank everyone — from near and far — who attended and continues to make this such a wonderful charity event supporting our community nonprofits.
Edinboro Lake is a beautiful feature of our town, and we are committed to showing it off while taking extra care to leave it even better than we found it. As a reminder, the floating lanterns are fully biodegradable and made of wood, rice paper, and a tea light. Lanterns were released around 9 PM and retrieved by boat shortly afterward. The lanterns simply float on the calm evening lake for a short period of time. This year, all lanterns were removed from the lake by 11 PM, and the beach area was carefully searched with flashlights to ensure all trash was collected.
Our mission is to continue providing a family-friendly event that showcases our community while keeping the lake clean for many years to come.
With all that being said, we are thrilled to announce that next year we will be partnering with Emma’s Footprints! 🩷 👣
Thank you again for your continued support — we can’t wait to see everyone next year!
