One of the more special Land Rover to attend a event. 1950 Land Rover Series 1 80” affectionately named “Car Zero” by those involved with the project.
Car Zero was the very first prototype vehicle restored under Land Rover Classic’s 2016 Series I Reborn program, created to showcase the exact standard and authenticity customers could expect. Originally a 1950 short-wheelbase truck found on a farm in Queensland, Australia, it was chosen because it was structurally original and an ideal candidate for a factory-correct restoration. Land Rover ( .classic ) rebuilt it at Solihull using genuine parts, proper Bronze Green paint, all of the correct trim, and a freshly restored 1.6-liter engine…essentially returning it to 1950 showroom condition. The truck became the public and press “hero vehicle” for the Reborn launch, appearing in early demonstrations, photography, and shows.
Car Zero has been living stateside on Cape Cod, Massachusetts for the better part of the last 5-6 years. We have had the great privilege to host it at both Cape Cod Series events as pictured above.
