Inspired by the migration patterns of the Canadian Goose, I wrote this song reflecting on the borders I observe, create, pass thru, fight, redefine, reimagine, respect, destroy…… what lines are arbitrary? Where does water cut thru land? The ecotones, the thresholds, the check points.
Especially thinking TODAY of the recent gutting of the voting rights act, the gerrymandering lines, invented borders as a means to disenfranchise fellow citizens, especially Black people, across the country. Absolutely unacceptable. An infuriating reminder to continue to use our attention, our dollars, our descent, our disruption knowing that life + liberty depend upon it, cause they do. The rest of the rant stays off the apps but I’ll see you in the real world 💫 🙏🏻 what we make believe, we make real, for better or worse.
