We're at Carson Park on morning four of band camp! We've had a VERY successful couple of days, practicing breathing and music fundamentals with Dr. Ward Miller, learning TONS of drill, and putting our full opener on the field for the first time last night! The students have come a long way, and there's a long way still to go this week! 💙💛

Our whole morning rehearsal in a minute and a half! We made a ton of progress at Simpson Field this morning, reinforcing marching fundamentals and learning another ten pages of our opener drill. We'll be playing and moving by tonight! 💙💛

This is not a muted video! This is how quiet a normal BMB rehearsal is. The trumpets are receiving instruction at midfield while the rest of the ensemble waits for the next rep, and there's not a noise in the building. This silent rehearsal method, installed by Dr. Ward Miller, is the key to how quickly the band learns. Six pages in under an hour, and this is our first drill rehearsal! 💙💛

Good morning from sunny Simpson Field! We're on campus for camp this year, rehearsing here almost every morning all week. For today's inaugural practice, our student leadership is teaching our marching fundamentals and installing the skills and procedures we'll use to learn the field show! The BMB's student-led instruction is one of our greatest strengths, and it allows us to build very quickly. More to come! 💙💛

The first day of camp is in the books! We had our first full band meeting and our first music readthrough tonight, and it's already shaping up to be an unbelievable season. Ahead of us is a full week of 12-hour rehearsal days, starting tomorrow morning at 8am sharp! 💙💛

It's registration day! Another season of the Blugold Marching Band gets underway today as the full band arrives on campus and moves in for camp. Our drumline, visual ensemble, and student leadership have been here this past week, but today's the day we see all the students together for the first time! Stay tuned this week for updates. 💙💛
