Chi Miigwech for visiting our tables! We went home a day early to start creating more birchbark jewelry for our next event (Woodland Indian Art Market) and to tackle a couple new projects! Last night we were able to pack our local library, where our friend and mentor, Dr. Anton Treuer, talked about indigenous life, language, and culture.

We also gifted him with a birchbark appliqué medallion as a token of our gratitude for all the contributions and meaningful work he has done to bridge our communities, build understanding, and keep our histories and culture alive for future generations.

Chi Miigwech Dr. Treuer, library Director Rob Ankarlo, Cumberland School District, and all of our friends at the library who helped to make the program a success!

If you create Woodland Indian art, this is a show you don't want to miss. The art competition takes place on Friday, November 6 with a chance to compete for $20,000 in prize money. The market is open to the public Saturday, Nov 7 - Sunday, Nov 8. Check out our website for details.
