ECWIT actors participated in the culminating event of the Eau Claire Police Department's week-long Crisis Intervention Team training on Friday, May 1. Portraying individuals experiencing mental health crises, actors provided simulated experiences for law enforcement staff to practice strategies of de-escalation training they learned during the week. ECWIT's Ann Pearson was recognized by ECPD for her 10 years of involvement with the program. Ann was instrumental in expanding ECWIT's role in the CIT training to recruit and train actors and develop realistic scenarios.
