Crab Drop Here on the Eastern Shore, we do things in style. The Annual New Year's Eve Crab Drop has become quite the attraction for Eastern Shore residents.

During the First Night Talbot Celebration every year, there are a wide variety of activities and events to keep everyone entertained. From the films, comedy, and magic to the crafts, music, and dancing, everyone can have a memorable and enjoyable start to their New Year!

General information

Founders Rich & Suzanne Hood came up with this creatively unique idea for folks in the Eastern Shore area, and it is now one of the highlights to the town of Easton's eventful night. The Crab was made by Suzanne Hood, with the help of locals, out of metal and paper mache, while the hoisting & lowering device was made by Rich Hood. To be sure that no one has to miss the amazing hand-made crab dropping, there is an "Early Midnight" at 9pm for the kids and a midnight drop for everyone else. Easton, MD welcomes everyone to join us for this spectacular event - the Crab Drop is something you'll want to see!
