On April 24, 2002, filmmaker Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwineโ€™s car broke down in the small town of Mbirizi, Uganda. While waiting for it to be repaired, he stumbled upon a small photo studio and met photographer Kibaate Aloysius Ssalongo, whose work spanned from the late 1950s to his death in 2006. This chance encounter turned into a 22-year journey documenting and exploring Kibaateโ€™s life, photography, and the profound impact his work had on the community he documented, as well as Mwineโ€™s own life.

This documentary took me back to my childhood and the importance of photography. It reminded me of the times when we I had visitors and the first thing mom said was "go get the photo album."๐Ÿ˜‚ So the visitors are not too bored. The power of photography brings a lot of lost memories that have been forgotten. Every time I go home I always look for the photo album so I can be reminded of how far we have come from losses to weddings to relatives that are long gone to graduation to first day in school, my first baby picture and that dog called Dog that is in every picture. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Everyone should watch the documentary.

Thanks for coming
