Art is therapy. It's a trust exercise. It's the reward at the end when you managed to pull it off, despite thinking throughout the whole piece that you don't even know why you think you can paint, or why you were so ambitious in your concept. I ALWAYS am shocked when I'm done.. "wait you mean I did that?!" Do I hope they sell, sure. But it's about so much more than that for any artist you come across. When you buy original art, you are buying years of studying, years of self doubt, and years of rewards. 😍

Fin. Finito. Done. I think I'm ready to call this snow leopard finished. Of course, some sleep and fresh eyes tomorrow and then I'll know for sure.

Easel update! 🚨

Just in time for a snowy Montana Sunday, here is an update on this beautiful snow creature. We are getting there. Swipe over to see a little close up. Next, I'll be focusing on all the other little things that will show up in this painting, but I had to get the snow leopard mostly finished first.

Easel Update Sunday 🚨

This snow leopard is starting to fill in. I usually have my landscape take up Alot of the painting, but this time it's mostly cat and wooooo I have a way to go!

At this point, it's mostly going according to plan...but who even knows where I'll end up.

Make sure you're following my page for updates!

Today, I'm remembering my friend Ron. He was one of those people you never really saw coming. When I got back into drawing during covid he was so supportive. Eventually he asked me to draw his new puppy, Radar, so I of course obliged. I was pretty proud of this until I smudged it - which you can see in the picture. I offered to just give him the piece and draw another one and he said no. He wanted to pay for this one and thought the smudge gave it character.

When I say you'd never see him coming - he had a pretty rough exterior, was definitely an as***le when he wanted to be - but to his friends, he would give everything he could. And I witnessed it in real time so many times.

He was real. That's what he was. And today, his body is free from pain.

With that, here is Radar.

A little glimpse into my daily surroundings. I thought it was ironic how it was all just setting there, had to snap a photo. Colors, tea, beats, and aliens oh my!
