Outdoor lakeside shows can be incredible, but they come with their own set of challenges and extra gear needs. Safety first.

Thankful for our Vever cable ramps helping us keep things clean and safe as we support Mixtape Arcade tonight at Knotty Pines in Siren, WI.

If you’re in the area, music starts at 7 and it’s beautiful out here!

Not every band member has four wheels and a tow package.

Today our Ford F-150 Lariat officially auditioned for the gig.

When the location said, “power is limited,” we said, “hold our cables.”

Looks like this beauty is joining Live From Elsewhere on June 13 to help power sound for Southern Express.

So far it looks (or sounds) like the assignment is understood.

Tonight we are back out at Route 65 Pub & Grub in East Bethel providing production for our friends in the Southern Express Band. Music starts at 8pm.

If your favorite song is Gator you should probably make sure you are here early. 🐊

Pro audio lesson of the day: measure twice, order once. Upgrading our in-ear monitors means rethinking ALL the details. Nothing a new insert (and a little humility) can’t fix. 😉

🎛️ Saturday Soundcheck answer:
When you’ve got two guitars on stage, panning and EQing help create separation in the mix.

Mother Nature had a different idea tonight...
❄️ Blizzard warning = no guitars at all.

Turns out that’s also a very effective way to prevent a muddy mix.

Stay safe out there everyone. We’ll catch you next time.

🎛️ Saturday Soundcheck

Next Saturday we will be back out at Route 65 Pub & Grub in East Bethel mixing for our good friends in Southern Express.

This week's question....

Two guitar players. One mix. What’s the secret to keeping them from sounding muddy?

Thanks for playing along with our inaugural Saturday Soundcheck's "Guess the Number of Inputs: Drumset Edition"!

We received a lot of great guesses. The actual number of inputs used to mic Bob’s drumset for the Lookin' Back show is 16!

Winners: Bob Lund and Rocky Anderson
Honorable Mention: Connie LeTourneau

We had to sacrifice input 17 (bottom snare) to fit in a 32-channel footprint, so Connie gets props for knowing Bob's ideal world. 😉

Congratulations your favorite beer or N/A is on us! See Sue at the next show to redeem your prize.

🎛️ Saturday Soundcheck

When we support Lookin' Back at The Freight House in Stillwater on 2/27, how many inputs will we use just for Bob’s drum kit?

Drop your guess below 👇

One correct guesser wins an early St. Patrick’s Day beer (or N/A!) from Sound Girl Sue. 🍀

Fewer than 60 tickets remain, so if you want to hear all those inputs working together, grab yours now!

See you in Stillwater!

(Members of Lookin’ Back and Live from Elsewhere crew and their family are lovingly ineligible 😉)

Our JBL SRX906LA's will bring you the gift of sound if you make the nice list. Not sure if you made it this year? There is still time!

Grab an unwrapped new toy and come out to Route 65 in East Bethel to donate it to Toys for Tots. ...and while you are here warm up with the hot tunes of the Southern Express Band.

We will turn the Santa speakers on at 8. Ho ho ho...
