It’s been a year in the Making! One year since Makers For Makers was created to shine a light on supporting makers, supporting community, buying local, and shopping small with a BIG heart! From makers markets to maker stories, this feed has blossomed only to spread good vibes.

Thanks to all of you who have shared your journey and art, been an inspiring seller at a pop up and become my new creative friends!!

Without further ado, meet . He is one of the cool and creative desert dwellers out of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico maker community. Bogs turns his materials into beautiful objects and his gallery is a supportive creative space for emerging art and artists. I met Bogs a year ago while living in the southwest and he was the first maker I featured on this feed. Since then I’ve moved to Idaho, but I recently caught up with Bogs to see whats new in his maker world a year later.

In his own words:
“For me colors are subjects in themselves, holding many associated meanings. When colors are combined with images, they further illicit meaning as the two subjects share one space in the mind of the viewer. Most recently I’ve been intuitively drawn to the color red as a backdrop to my pictograph-like images, temporarily favoring it over black. The color speaks to me of birth, inspiration, passion, and intense focus, whereas my black backdrops had been more about absorption, solitude, and their opposition to my stark white-lined images. These intuitive preferences are not static, they are what make the creative process so elusive and fulfilling for me.

My most recent endeavors include a large series of painted drawings on red surfaces, the release of a short film titled “The Vision”, the finalizing of an EP covering The Smiths, and the continued work of curating artist-centered shows and residencies at Artist Abbey in Truth or Consequences NM. Recent exhibits include Lisa Talavera’s “Unseen Landscapes” and Felix Morelo’s “End of Residency Exhibit”.

Learn more at hieronymusbogs.com and if your ever in the neighborhood, his gallery is open every second Saturday of the month during the festive Truth Or Consequences Art Hop.

Wander in Wildflowers

Happy Monday Makers! It’s our 1-year mark this August and we love nothing more then celebrating all things handmade and maker with each of you! Please say Hello to our newest maker friend ! Megan is hard at work bringing magic to her community as a farmers market organizer and the world through her floral keepsakes! Her pieces are works of art for your home that preserve the fleeting beauty of blooms and capture those special memories forever!

In her own words:
“My name is Megan and my business is Wander In Wildflowers and I create floral art! I’ve been in business for 2 years. I’m a full time mom of 2, and make time for my flower projects whenever I can. I direct and coordinate the local farmer’s market in our small town of Marsing, Idaho as my full time job.

The flowers I use in my art are grown from my garden, gifted to me by friends and family, or gathered wildflowers near my home. I have 7 large flower presses (most of which I’ve made myself) that help preserve the color and beauty of each flower. The flowers are then arranged into glass float frames, shadow boxes, or (my personal favorite) resin! The frames and glass I use in my art are bought from second-hand thrift stores. I love to design new compositions and try to come up with new creative ways to display my flowers. I’ve always had a special love for flowers and I wanted to find a way to preserve their beauty to enjoy year round, which is what sparked Wander In Wildflowers.

Im the next year, I hope to expand my business into larger resin projects, specifically for bridal commissions and other large floral preservation projects. I’m also looking into turning my flower art into jewelry!”

Check out for some fun and meaningful art to keep a little piece of nature with you and always have those beautiful flowers!
