Brush fires in Homestead/Miami area have left me trapped for a day or two. And it couldn't be any hotter!

Not only dealing with a huge rain storm in the Florida panhandle but, also, a coupla large brushfires further south. Trapped for the moment. But time is on my side.

This could well be my curtain song for the Foxhole. Poor health has a way of knocking on your door. Nothing imminent but alternative plans are in the works. On the other hand I may be there next year just as grumpy, happy and full of beans as usual. There are other good folks feeling low nowadays also. Keep them in your thoughts.

Everyone keep happy! It's summer. Let's enjoy it. See you in a few weeks. Shine on you crazy diamonds!

Have to delay my departure due to a tropical storm about to hit the panhandle and southern Georgia. Better here than in New York.

Packing slowly. What will I forget? That one thing sitting on the table next to the car that I consider essential.

Gonna start packing tomorrow. After a trip to the airport. This will take several iterations. More stuff than car. A metaphor for my life.

Luckily for me my departure will end the possibility of an ill-advised romance. Unluckily for me I will arrive at a place where all endeavors in that regard have a historically negative record. Running out of testosterone is not always bad. But seeing old friends, listening to great music and sharing delicious food will never bring guilt unto myself. Told you I was gonna post useless information. Hey, you gonna eat that?

Pretty sure Ima gonna make a big pot of corn on the cob. No extra anything. Corn, salt, butter, paper towels, huge trash can. Have some or don't. Talk to your doctor first.

You may get multiple almost useless posts from me in the near future. Disregarding the packing of my car I am officially getting psyched. And this coming week is my jumping off conflagration. One day I'm gone. Next day I'm eating peaches and pecans with Bonnie. Seems I may be getting cheaper gas prices. Take what I can get.

There are quite a few items available to Foxholians at the Foxhole store online. To date we have not made a profit off these items. And that's okay as I'm not profit minded. If the Foxhole can sustain itself I'm fairly well pleased. To help with that sustainability we now have some new items for sale at the HQ tent. Along with tee shirts we will have coffee mugs, plastic wine glasses, stickers, pins and maybe a few other products. This year the tees will have some expanded sizes. Come shop and keep the Foxhole viable.

Thanks for all the offers to stay at places in Florida going northward. My point is to get out of state fast. Settle in with the Queen O'Hay family in Georgia my first day. And maybe a second. Eat some pecans and peaches. Maybe stop near Johnson City, Tennessee next stop. Last stop will be southern border of PA. Then its about six hours to Connecticut.
