Grandma’s House - Do you remember it?
I often pictured this home as someone’s grandmas house as I’d walk by.
It reminded me of my own grandmother’s house, miles and miles away. The little table in the little kitchen where she kept giving me more and more oatmeal because I was “just skin and bones”. The yard where we played softball in the rain, it felt so huge as a little kid - big and magical. ✨✨✨
Think back to the places you’ve treasured that the people who made those memories special.
A house. A picture of a house. A picture of a yard. A picture of grandma who is no longer with us.
We may think things memories don’t matter, that those who come after us won’t care.
But boy what I would give to have known what these special memories were of my own grandmother.
To have her pictures, her handwriting, her memories. Photographed and written down for me and the rest of her family to share.
What memories of your ancestors do you wish had been recorded and passed down?
What memories of your own grandmothers house do you want to pass down?
