Students will complete a gourd bowl with a coiled pine needle rim and choice of another gourd pine needle project. The learning process will include gourd preparation with focus on open and closed pine needle coiling methods using the split stitch and wheat stitch applications.

My Story

I am a fiber artist that creates new art pieces each and every day. I am known for my gourd art but I enjoy working with leather, stones, fabric, and other materials. I have learned many different techniques throughout my years as an artist.

This is what you may find while on my page:

Fine Art Gourds: Each gourd is hand selected and artfully cut to emphasize the shape and unique characteristics of the individual gourd. When the cleaning process is complete the gourds are the hand dyed, polished and further enhanced with intricate pine needle weaving and coiling. A variety of natural dyes and traditional stitching techniques are used to highlight the individuals gourd’s natural organic beauty.

Genuine Leather Pieces: Working with leather is a fun hobby for me. My genuine leather earrings are each unique in their own ways. You can find various leathers, patterns, shapes, and colors in the earrings. I use sterling silver/14k over sterling hooks on every pair of earrings, so they won’t bother sensitive skin. I also create leather cuff bracelets, purses, and other stylish accessories.
