For anyone who still follows this page, some sad news in the belly dance world this week. Za-Beth, a woman who was a huge influence for many years has passed away. She was always at the Rakkasah and Spring Caravan shows, and she hosted many events of her own over the years. Her enthusiasm and love for this dance form and the community will certainly be missed.

Some of you may have heard by now - but it's official, Roxy & Dukes is not reopening, which means neither is this monthly show.

We've been so blessed to be able to bring amazing performances and workshops to our local Middle Eastern dance community for more than 9 years with the support of a venue who saw the value in what we were doing.

Thank you all for your support over the years!

Again I bring sad tidings of a loss in our local community - early this morning Jeff Webb lost his battle with Covid. As many may know he has had many health battles recently. Esma Korn has announced that the Valentine's Day Benefit that was supposed to air this Fridat,2/12 will be a memorial benefit instead.

Oh the drum party they must be having in heaven right now...

It is with a heavy heart that I share news of the passing of a member of our extended community. Julian Broughton was a drummer, dancer, actor, beautiful creative spirit and amazing human being. You might have met him at our show (he was scheduled again as part of the lineup in our March 2020 show that was cancelled due to Covid-19), at Rakkasah East, at a show at Jebon, at a Rennisance festival, SCA event, or any of the many other events that he participated in over the years. Please also join me in extending heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Ayleeza.

Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse remains closed - and our monthly shows Belly Dance Night at Roxy & Dukes continue to remain on hiatus.

Kim Leary who was supposed to teach our workshop at the end of May is currently teaching weekly on line classes though! Check out the class schedule:
