🎭 FROM BEHIND THE SCENES TO THE DIRECTOR’S CHAIR

A very special milestone for Muir’s Media.

Our own Graham Muir recently made his directorial debut at TheatreFor in Clearwater, directing Divine, Divine Comedy, Comedy.

Storytelling is at the heart of Muir’s Media, and our relationship with TheatreFor has given us the opportunity to support live, local theatre while also becoming part of its creative journey.

For Graham, Divine, Divine Comedy, Comedy marked a new chapter — stepping away from performing and into the director’s chair for the first time, bringing together the cast, creative team and countless details that turn words on a page into a live theatrical experience.

A special thank you to co-directors Graham Jones and Mike Cote, whose mentorship and support helped make this first directing experience possible, and to Grace Muir for her encouragement throughout the journey.

The curtain may have come down on Divine, Divine Comedy, Comedy, but this is one story we’re particularly proud to tell.

TheatreFor's "Close Encounters" doesn't feature "X-Files" aliens or "Scully & Mulder"; it does, however, feature one man who will do anything for the crown and one man who will do anything for the spotlight.

In Act I, you will meet Shakespeare’s "Richard III", who became the villain that audiences love to hate. In Act II, the would-be actors of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" take over — with an unstoppable leading man, a disastrous rehearsal, and a tragedy that becomes wonderfully ridiculous.

🎭 PREVIEW | Spoon River Anthology opens this Friday (31st July 2026) at TheatreFor

Some productions rely on spectacle. Others rely on the power of great storytelling.

I recently had the opportunity to attend a preview rehearsal of Spoon River Anthology, Steven Halstead's adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters' celebrated collection of poetic epitaphs, opening this Friday at TheatreFor.

From the moment you enter the theatre, you're transported into the quiet world of Spoon River. The cemetery setting immediately creates an atmosphere of reflection, while the intimate TheatreFor performance space allows every story to be told with remarkable closeness.

What impressed me most during the preview was the production's confidence. Rather than relying on elaborate effects, the creative team places its trust in the writing, the staging, and an ensemble that appears fully committed to bringing these voices to life.

These photographs offer only a glimpse of what audiences can expect.

I'll be attending a public performance after opening and will publish my full review next week.

If you enjoy thoughtful theatre that values character, language, and emotional honesty, this is one worth seeing.

Review: War Virgin at TheatreFor

Some productions entertain. Others linger. TheatreFor's production of War Virgin firmly belongs in the latter category.

Laura Westley's deeply personal coming-of-age story is brought to the stage with honesty, humor, and remarkable emotional intelligence. Rather than relying on melodrama, the production trusts the power of authentic storytelling, allowing moments of laughter and heartbreak to coexist naturally. The result is an evening that feels less like watching a play and more like being entrusted with someone's life.

The intimate TheatreFor space proves to be the perfect home for this production. Every glance, hesitation, and emotional shift is magnified, creating an immediacy that larger venues would struggle to replicate. The audience isn't simply observing the story—they become participants in its emotional journey.
