ize additional related happenings around honoring the ancestors - such as displays, music, or poetry readings. Our November festival purpose since 2008 has been to respect and honor departed loved ones and reimagine a better world. Multicultural, intergenerational, and trans-disciplinary approaches have been presented. All are included to present heartfelt alternatives to commercialized Halloween. Skeleton motifs always encouraged! (Sugar skull makeup is reserved for those of Mexican heritage.) We need volunteers to keep the annual event going, help us spread the word! More participation is always needed in art displays, poetry, music, costumes, singing, dancing....

🎨👻 CALL FOR ART! 👻🎨

Help us transform the Duluth Children’s Museum for Booseum!

This year, we’re inviting kids, families, classrooms, local artists, and community members to help us decorate the Museum for our favorite spooky season celebration! Create something kid-friendly, spooky, fall-inspired, silly, or just a little bit strange and it could become part of our October display.

🖌️ All kinds of art are welcome! Paint, draw, collage, stitch, sculpt with paper, or get creative with mixed media, just make sure your creation can be displayed on a wall or hung from the ceiling.

Today, we bid farewell to Wendell Berry, one of the great literary voices of our time: poet, novelist, essayist, farmer and devoted guardian of the natural world. His words reminded us to live more gently, to honour the earth beneath our feet and to find grace in every corner of the earth. 🌿🌸🌛

A beautiful final thought from a man whose life and work were rooted in the enduring bonds between humanity, community and the living world. May he now rest within the peace he described so beautifully.
