Pride in the City Pride in the City is the LGBTQ+ Diversity Resource Group at City of Hope

Pride in the City’s Mission To create an accepting and inclusive environment that serves the needs and interests of all City of Hope employees, patients, families, and the surrounding communities, regardless of gender identity and/or sexual orientation. Our Goals
We will promote a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQA patients, families, and employees through education, cultural awareness, an

d networking. We will provide a safe and supportive space where LGBTQ employees can learn more about resources available to them. We will work with senior leadership to improve the care experience of LGBTQ patients and families by suggesting process improvements and providing feedback on developments. We will participate in community outreach to further COH’s mission and recruitment efforts.

In recent years there have been changes to blood donation eligibility requirements for men who have s*x with men. A new groundbreaking FDA-funded study is a first step in determining whether a different donor deferral can be used at blood centers nationwide while maintaining the safety of the blood supply. If you live in the Los Angeles area and are interested in becoming a blood donor, you may be eligible to participate in the ADVANCE Study.
