Happy 80th birthday to my eternally young husband of 37 years! Your laugh, your spirit, you talent, your degrees of kindness, made me fall madly in love almost the moment we met, doing what we love........being in the Theatre! After a long pause in my acting career to spend time with my baby boy, I took that advice and auditioned at the Playmkers in Ybo and was cast in Stop the World, I Want to Get Off. Bruce was the musical director and Mark Hunter the director. The World didn't Stop! And guess what? I got back on. And what a lovely, wonderful world it has been.
For those who wanted to donate for Bruce's birthday, here is the link to do so, in his honor or anyone else's!
If you wish to donate to one of our favorite causes, please consider a donation for The Studio at 620. https://thestudioat620.org/support/how-to-support/donate/
This is a magical place founded by Bob Devin Jones, who has been instrumental in lifting artists, visual, performing and writing to be able to share their talents and not have to give away profits. He is kind, he is prolific and he has been one of the creating the West Coast of Florida as the Arts Coast. The door to the studio reads "The Answer is Always Yes!!"
His generosity blooms 8 days a week, so to speak every week of the year. So many will be able to bring more of their arts to fruition. And don't we all need a little of the arts in our lives? Just look around your house!!!! We hang pictures, we attend plays and the movies, we watch TV, we dance at weddings and parties, we go to the theatre, we love concerts, we sigh at memories flickering in the screen in our minds when hearing the oldies. We love the poets, the bards, the story tellers when we pick up a book. And so on and so forth.
And if you are ever in a slump, here's the advice I received from a very wise man, "Kathi, get involved with the thing you love the most. No excuses. Once you do, you will find yourself surrounded by like minds who will lift, encourage, work with, and brighten your time." I did just that....crawled out of my whole and auditioned for the aforementioned play, learned a lot, laughed a lot, made my family proud, and met the man who has enriched my life and will do so forever.
Happy Birthday Bruce! I love you so.
