Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia: Nu Eta Chapter This is the official page of the Nu Eta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is the world’s oldest and largest secret national fraternal society in music. Sinfonia was born on October 6, 1898, at the New England Conservatory in Boston, when a group of thirteen young men under the guidance of Ossian Everett Mills "to consider the social life of the young men students of that institution [and] to devise ways and means by which it might be improved." Sin

fonia became a national fraternity on October 6, 1900, with the admission of a group of men at the Broad Street Conservatory in Philadelphia. For over a century, Sinfonians in nearly every field of study and professional endeavor have transformed music in America. The opportunity of becoming a Sinfonian is offered to as many men as possible who, through a love for music, can assist in the fulfillment of the Fraternity’s Object and ideals either by adopting music as a profession, or by working to advance the cause of music in America.

Serving as our Warden, Brother Todd Lewis is a Music Education major from San Antonio, Texas, bringing both discipline and creativity to the Nu Eta Chapter. With an eye for the past, Todd has a love for vintage items, appreciating the stories and character behind them. Calm, dependable, and thoughtful in his approach, Todd plays an important role in keeping our brotherhood grounded and moving forward.

Every chapter has that brother—the one who brings the energy, the laughs, and the love. Today, we’re spotlighting someone who truly keeps Nu Eta’s heart beating.

Keeping Nu Eta running smoothly, Brother Derius Young serves as our Treasurer and is a second-year graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work. Whether he’s keeping the chapter running smoothly or bringing warmth and energy into every space he enters, Derius is the kind of brother who makes Nu Eta feel like home. When he’s not balancing the books, Derius is staying up to date with the latest Real Housewives drama, planning his next travel adventure, or spending quality time with the family and friends who keep him grounded. With an eye for detail and a personality that keeps things lively, Derius plays a vital role in making sure our brotherhood thrives both on paper and in practice.

The strength of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity – Nu Eta Chapter comes from the brothers who invest their time, talent, and passion into preserving our values while pushing the chapter forward. As we continue highlighting the leaders and personalities behind Nu Eta, today’s spotlight features a brother whose dedication connects our history, education, and brotherhood.

Stepping into the role of Fraternity Education Officer, Brother Anthony Galvan is a graduate student from San Antonio, Texas, currently in his final semester of his M.A. in Communication. As a former tuba player, Anthony brings a deep appreciation for Sinfonia’s musical and fraternal history, paired with the academic insight to help guide the chapter forward. Outside of his leadership roles, he enjoys video games, staying social, and building connections with his brothers—making him both a keeper of our past and a key part of our present.

Continuing from yesterday, we’re keeping the spotlight rolling as we highlight the brothers who help lead and define the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity – Nu Eta Chapter.

Serving as our Vice President, Brother Aiden Milliron is a Communications major from Brenham, Texas who brings energy, creativity, and care to the Nu Eta Chapter. When he’s not helping lead the fraternity, you’ll likely find him dominating the pickleball court or in the kitchen baking something from scratch, always ready to share the results with the brothers. An exceptional vocalist, Aiden’s musicianship and people-first approach make him a cornerstone of our brotherhood and a steady voice that keeps Nu Eta moving forward.

As we head into the start of our semester, the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity – Nu Eta Chapter will be highlighting the brothers that make our chapter what it is.

Leading the Nu Eta Chapter as our Chapter President, Brother Joaquin Carcamo hails from Sugar Land, Texas and is a junior majoring in Music Performance. Having crossed in Spring ’24, Joaquin brings both passion and purpose to everything he does, whether he’s shaping the direction of the chapter or refining his craft as a flutist. When he’s not making music, you’ll probably find him proudly repping his love for TWICE, proving that great musicianship and elite taste go hand in hand.
