We are pleased to welcome John Travis to the gallery!

"I grew up in London to the sound of punk rock. So, I saved up, bought a guitar, learned the requisite three chords, and started a band- or several.

Cut to 2020, when we watched in horror as a group of policemen choked a man named George Floyd to death. The streets were talking and the volume was rising. Amid a global pandemic, thousands marched in Los Angeles—the city I now called home. I had to join them, so I grabbed the camera. I felt that reconnection with the protest marches I went to as a young punk rocker. And while I was out of the streets, I was taking photos of people standing up against injustice.

From that moment, I was hooked. Photography became my three chords and the truth, my two turntables and a microphone—my unfiltered voice to the world. And it's gonna get loud!"

We are pleased to welcome JC Tolon to the gallery! .cj

"Hello, my name is JC I started my photography during my time within the USMC as an infantry traveling where I was exposed to many different cultures and served alongside refugees from Afghanistan. As someone who is Filipino American, I see myself as part of the AAPI community. I grew up in Inglewood surrounded by many of America’s minority communities. Those experiences shaped the way I see people and the way I approach photography.

I see myself as a combat cameraman I love doing photography at night. I would also take the time to go to LA Skid Row to help those who are need and take photos.

My work is rooted in documenting people as they are — with honesty, vulnerability, and humanity."

We are pleased to welcome Tina Pham to the gallery!

"Hi, I’m Tina. I’m a Vietnamese American creative and film photographer based in Los Angeles and Orange County, California. I was born and raised in Little Saigon, one of the largest Vietnamese communities outside of Vietnam, and proud of it. As an artist, I find myself gravitating towards projects and events centering storytelling, cultural identity, and film photography. I enjoy photographing street life, architecture, nature, especially during my travels abroad to Asia.

Most of my most celebrated work is film photos from my trip to Vietnam. I went in 2023 for the first time in my life with my sister and mom, who hadn't been there since she left more than 30 years ago. These photos are a timestamp of my first impression of Vietnam as someone whose grandparents fought in the war and were imprisoned in re-education camps and whose parents grew up in scarcity. Vietnam is a different place now--it's buzzing with energy, abundant in kindness, and saturated in color. "

We are pleased to welcome Mei Xian Qiu to the gallery!

Mei Xian Qiu is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores migration, diasporic memory, and the complexities of Asian American identity through photography, painting, text, and installation. Drawing from her Peranakan Chinese Indonesian heritage and family histories shaped by war, displacement, and survival, her practice examines archives, language, and systems of belonging.

Her Angel Island scroll works reinterpret the history of Chinese exclusion and detention through altered texts, poetic intervention, and contemporary visual strategies that connect historical erasure to present day questions of citizenship, memory, and cultural inheritance.

We are pleased to welcome Remi Frogo to the gallery!

Remi Frogo (b. 2001, Orange County, CA) is a Los Angeles-based fine artist who received her BFA with honors from The University of Southern California in 2023. During her studies at USC, Frogo held her debut solo show i know everything at Lindhurst Gallery (Jan. 2023), featuring over fifteen original pieces. In the Summer of 2024, Frogo was featured in Flowers at Yaytso Gallery, an exhibition featuring the collaboration and convergence between artists working in oil paints and augmented reality tools. Later that year, Frogo co-curated and showed work in Syndicate, It’s All Good Studio’s debut exhibition.

Navigating a digitally distorted landscape, Remi Frogo investigates associated feelings of disconnection and misrepresentation through image archiving and manipulation. Centering images of herself, Frogo meditates on how her self-image is shaped - purposefully, accidentally, maliciously, or honorably - by her media diet and digital ecosystems at large. Recently, Frogo has painted with a growing awareness of the physicality of memory and the degree to which it is vulnerable to digital noise. Frogo questions how integrating online spaces into life can reshape inner monologue and filter relationships through algorithmic lenses. What control, if any, is left in the hands of the user?

We are pleased to welcome the return of Lili Miura to the gallery! She was with us in the Fall of 2024. We are doubly excited to share and showcase her latest work, Liberty and Justice Lost, which you will not want to miss!

"I am a multi-disciplinary artist. My artwork is inspired by a multitude of human emotions, resilience, and courage in times of hardship —a viewpoint from a multicultural perspective on social and cultural concerns. I often paint figurative art as a focal point, Where Metaphoric symbolism and expressive sensuality are juxtaposed with subtle messages in the background. I layered in imaginary objects and poems to further infuse my vision of cross-cultural art."

Lili Miura was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and spent her early years in Tokyo, studying fine art and international business. She had a successful career as a fashion model and TV talent.

After immigrating to the United States, Lili studied fine art and graphic design. She worked as a textile designer and graphic designer and was later promoted to art director. In recent years, she has dedicated her time to her paintings.

We are pleased to welcome Tia Xia to the gallery! .xia.art

Tia Xia is a multidisciplinary artist born in Southwest China and currently based in Los Angeles. Working primarily in painting, drawing, and installation, her practice is informed by her upbringing—raised amidst lush natural surroundings yet shaped by complex family dynamics. This background has fostered an inclination to explore the subtle intricacies of the human condition through the metaphorical language of nature.

Influenced by Abstract Expressionism, Eastern traditions, and her cross-cultural experiences in the U.S., Tia’s work probes the essence of life: its vibrant energy, persistent struggles, and elusive ideals. Her art exudes a spiritual quality while embracing the physical materiality of her mediums.

In Collaboration AJSOCAL, the opening reception for AAPI Voices in Art will be on June 11th. Exhibition ends July 25th.
