Yokahu Tower in El Yunque National Rainforest
The last slide is the view from the top.

This series is so special to me because it had been over 20 years since I had been able to return to Puerto Rico. Many of the paintings I made before this series were inspired by my memories as a child but it was very fragmented. Blurry memories. Puerto Rico is so beautiful, lush and warms my soul.

This piece will be part of a group 12 x 12 exhibition at . This show includes all artists participating in Greenville Open Studios in November.

I usually don’t work from a reference but that is just the change I needed this summer. I will definitely stray away from it by exaggerating the colors and building up textures.
