[Rumors May 2026]
Any characters passing through town can hear any of the following rumors:
Did you hear that creature they were seeing on the Erce frontline has been seen around Dal Umma? What's it doing here? I saw it by one of those sink holes everyone says to stay away from. It... looked like it was crying? I dunno, it was weird. I get the feeling things are going to get messy before they get better. Yea giant fox? Dog? Wolf? head, just crying by that pit. I saw it do something and I got the feeling I should be anywhere but there. I ran man. I wasn't about to stick around and see if it noticed me.
Have you felt the tremors spreading around Dal Umma? I heard there's a road on the northern side that was lost to a landslide. Whole road that had been around since before the Yemanists spread across Anthuli, buried in a matter of moments under tons of rock and earth. I don't know what to tell you, things are getting weirder around the Mountain. First there's this Cult, then these sinkholes, now this? I heard some folks saying the land slides are uncovering old tunnels into the Mountain, I'm more terrified of what might come out of them rather than even think about going into them.
I've been seeing more and more mercenary companies popping up around Graewynn. Everyone is getting antsy to see if this Reclamation of Froni actually occurs or not. From what I've been hearing it will. Anyone who has paid any attention to history should know why this is bad for everyone that isn't Soli or a Yemanist Convert. Between the Necropoli rising in Agrineas, the ceasefire on the Erce border, and the Dagani raids in the north, everyone is holding their breath for when the next war breaks out. Because you know it will mean Graewynn is caught in the middle of it.
With everything going on, I've been hearing a number of pro-Yemanist towns have been clamoring to get in on this Reclamation. There's 'pilgrimages' heading to Sol but a lot of folk are starting to wonder if a bunch of the Yemanist towns are going to quietly ally with Sol and before you know it there's going to be a huge shake up in the borders. I've heard the Dagani have been moving south and are raiding towns rumored to be allied with Sol. The last thing we need is cavalry stampeding through our towns.
Tick tock, around the clock. Soon the Awakening will occur. When the lines between here and now blur. Walk with me and we can see, how the world looks when the curtain falls away. All of the talk, all of the crying will stop and none will go astray. Tonight, tonight, we will sing and dance, come now into the darkening manse. Fear not the humbling dark, soon all will be gray and stark.
