We are working on grants to fund Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Possibilities Park Project in Dorris California.

Our teams are working on the grant writing, budget and timelines now.

Butte Valley Dream Builders Group will apply for the Regional Park Program grant due 11/5 for Phase 2 funding. This grant would fund a skatepark, amphitheater, and park atmosphere.

We are asking the City of Dorris to be the applicant for the Rural Recreation and Tourism Program, without their support we will not be able to apply to this phase. This grant would fund a regional soccer/multiuse field complex.

Tomorrow night, Monday September 20th, we will attend the Dorris City Council meeting asking for their partnership and permission to move forward with the Phase 3 grant writing.

We are within a few weeks of (fingers crossed) hearing the announcement that Dorris will be awarded funding from the California Department of Parks and Recreation!

While we wait, we are preparing two additional grant applications to fund Phase 2 and Phase 3 of Possibilities Park Project. We have been meeting with design experts and our contracting partner.

We conducted community design sessions in early 2021, but may pull in additional sessions in the next few weeks.

Based on our sessions earlier we decided:

Phase 2 will include a skatepark, botanical garden, amphitheater, parking, and a park environment.

Phase 3 will include 2 multipurpose/soccer fields with bleachers, a snack shack and restrooms.
