En el 2007, cree esta obra titulada “El Cantante” la cual fue inspirada por la vida de “El Cantante de los Cantantes” Hector Lavoe Hector Lavoe.

La canción “El Cantante” fue escrita originalmente por el maestro Rubén Blades Ruben Blades. En el 2007, le presenté este concepto a la famosa disquera de La Fania para usar como la portada de un álbum relacionado con la película “El Cantante” la cual protagonizaba a Marc Anthony Marc Anthony haciendo papel de Hector Lavoe. El concepto de mi obra les encantó, pero decidieron no usarlo en la portada. De todos modos pude completar la obra y se convirtió en una pieza importante de mi serie musical. Las líneas detrás del micrófono representan la vida caótica que vivió Hector Lavoe a pesar de su gran don como El Cantante. La obra original mide 48” x 48”, oleo sobre lienzo y la vendí hace años atrás. Aun tengo Giclee Prints disponibles a la venta.

Si nunca la han escuchado les recomiendo que busquen la versión de Rubén Blades de “Él Cantante”.

One component for my art was “drawing like a child” while maintaining an intricate level of detail and elegance in the lines. Here is a good example of this concept. The composition is fairly simple but filled with movement and fine detail the closer you get.
