Be the chaotic goat you want to see in the world this holiday season 😌😘

We've managed to get dozens of etsy orders shipped out wayyy ahead of schedule so they'd make the xmas deadline (as well as a few dozen more close on their heels, from people ordering in the last few days).

We've done two restocks in .beautiful.idea this week, including a Big batch of sweatshirts.

We have not yet restocked in Fxbg but they're next on the list 😅

This time of year is impossible to keep up with unless we overextend ourselves, and we're trying REALLY really hard Not to do that this year. So. Thanks for your patience & understanding if allllll the CB options you've hoped for haven't been available in the location of your choice. We're doing our best. 💌

Social media is real rough on our brains this year and we've had to step back considerably, so messages here may not get read for like, a handful of weeks.

But we check email most days of the week! Often multiple times a day. So please do both of us a favor and send an email if you would like a timely reply. We want to answer your questions quickly, I promise - we just really, truly cannot do that well on this platform.

Hiiii are you still holiday shopping? I'm sorry to say you won't see us these last few markets of the year (though you should still go! There are many lovely artists braving the cold to share their work).

You can find all your needed Critter Butts güds .beautiful.idea in downtown Charlottesville, in our Etsy shop (website is still under construction 😅), and at over a dozen shops around the country!

This year has been a lesson in conserving energy and prioritizing focus & capacity, and it's been a hard one to internalize. We've found that three years of doing weekly+ markets is no longer sustainable for our introverted, spicy squirrel brains - so we've been making more time for improving our studio spaces, cooking up bigger long term plans for the shop, improving our workflows for fulfilling online & wholesale orders (that just keep coming somehow!), and attempting to rest & feed our creative appetites.

We miss seeing all your sassy faces every week! So please still keep in touch, visit us at the shop, keep an eye out for occasional event appearances, and know that we're out here making silly critter art & doing our best to figure out how to keep this ridiculous little business chugging on into the future.

Thanks for your support these past 4.5 (!) years - it's still mind blowing and deeply humbling to be making our living this way, and we appreciate every single purchase, comment, review, and message sent our way.

We're finally getting our Etsy & Faire up to date with our newest products! Patches and prints are up, along with the newest glow in the dark stickers. Additional notebook options are being added soon, and hopefully this will all reappear on a new/refreshed website later this month.

Thanks to the many dozens of people gifting our feral creature art to their loved ones this season - we're loving all the notes & really enjoy getting to put stickers on so many packages every day. 🥹

We're migrating our website to a new hosting service this week. We had been using Wix, but when we learned they're Israeli owned and supporters of g3n0c1de, we knew we wanted to find a new option.

As always seems to happen with big awkward business changes, it's come at a terrible time. 🫠 But today's the day our subscription ends, so don't be surprised if www.CritterButts.com doesn't get you anywhere for a couple days. It'll be back shortly (& better than ever? 🤞🏼).

If you're not local to us and Can't Wait to purchase some Critter Butts goods, you can always visit our Etsy shop instead.

We got $1,000 worth of crops delivered this week, bc y'all seem to be insatiable for them this year (can't blame you, we love showing off a belly) 😏😎🔥

But we're getting a bit too familiar with the few colors offered in the typical style we use... So we're trying out some new options (in Addition to the old! They'll still be around).

The first is a cotton crop by American Apparel in some lovely muted colors (except for that magenta... Who is she? 👀)

And the second is the new heavyweight 'ladies' T by Bella Canvas, that's Definitely much shorter than their standard unisex T's, but also for sure not as short as their crops. So we'll see how we all feel about that one... But they come in a wider variety of colors than the standard BC crops (& are 100% cotton), so we thought it worth a try.

I'm excited to get some of these printed up today to see what y'all make of them.

Fight like hell for the living ✊🏼

This is a really hard time to 'make content' - we're businessing to the extent we can, while supporting friends, receiving support, sending funds to Palestine, sharing mutual aid resources locally, and handling normal life chaos.

Hopefully we'll feel a bit more able to celebrate Something come September, but for now just being alive and having purpose and people to share it with is as much as we can juggle.

For those of you who have already emptied out the rack of crop tops .beautiful.idea that we just refilled on Thursday - hot damn. We will do our best to provide more as soon as we can. Rock those bellies. 🔥

There are so many photos of her that I love, but this one holds a special place in my heart, bc this pose will Always make me think of Legally Blonde, and Elle Woods teaching the Bend & Snap™️ 😂🙌🏼💅

Dylan and I rewatched Legally Blonde recently, and then last night rewatched She Devil (a late 80s GEM of a movie) - both are such an inspiration and reminder of the many ways we can maintain and repair our self esteem, and help build our friends up too. I don't have anything eloquent to say about this - has a responsibility (like Any business) to respectfully, swiftly, and appropriately respond to claims of sexual harassment. This is not the first time we (Joan & Dylan) have heard about Significant failings on their part as an employer in ways that directly impact people we care about, who deserve better treatment.

See and accounts for posts & bio links to much more information about the current situation.

Diversity Richmond has announced (albeit only in their stories) a town hall for July 15th to offer the community space to address concerns. We would VERY MUCH like them to listen and catch up on the repair work necessary to be a solid anchor for the q***r community in Richmond.

Our mutual aid funds should not need to be going to people's rent bc their Q***r, Community Focused employer can't do right by them. And we would Very Much like to vend at VA Pride again, which is our biggest event of the year, and has a massive impact on our quality of life as a very small business. I know we're not alone in this, and many of our friends have already posted their statements of solidarity.

.cville .beautiful.idea it would mean a lot for each of you as q***r organizations/businesses/networks in central Virginia to know you stand with us in calling for change. Diversity Richmond has gotten a pass for the last few years, and our community members deserve better.
