the Dexter Hannaford Red Hot Dog Eating Contest is the Maine Red Hot Dog Festival 's biggest attraction. 2026 was no different.

With only 8 coveted spots available, and same day sign-ups, spaces filled fast and early. Spoiler: Alan Dill claimed his 4th win!!!

Thousands came out to Dexter Saturday to celebrate Maine's famous red snapper, some of which participated in the hot dog eating contest.
