The Frozen Farmer is officially open in Dewey—and some customers are already becoming regulars!

One of our followers spoke with owner, who said a few opening-night customers were back at opening time the very next day. Even the people in line behind our follower were repeat customers!

The menu includes Delaware- and Dewey-inspired flavors like Orange Crush and Bourbon Brown Sugar Peach, plus fresh donuts on weekends. We’re still hoping the Crab Dip Donut eventually makes an appearance!

This family-run spot also has baked goods and coolers filled with more than grab-and-go ice cream—including fresh fruit, soft drinks and edible cookie dough.

Welcoming new businesses is always on the Dewey Do-List. Stop in, be kind and give The Frozen Farmer a warm Dewey welcome!

Frozen Farmer open today!

Yesterday was WILD. 🍦🌊

We spent the day putting the finishing touches on our little ice cream shop in Dewey Beach and before we could even officially open the doors, we had locals literally knocking on them wanting to see what we were bringing to town. 😂

So, of course, we let a few of them in! They became our very first taste testers, grabbed some scoops, looked around and shared some conversation with us.

I have to say, after everything it took to get here, seeing that kind of excitement before we even opened was pretty special!

The news crew even showed up to get the scoop on what was coming!

And yesterday afternoon, I stood before Dewey Beach Town Council and got to tell the story behind all of this — our third-generation family farm, our roots in Delaware agriculture, how The Frozen Farmer began by finding a delicious purpose for fruit we grow that might otherwise go to waste, and how that little idea eventually carried us all the way to Shark Tank.

I also got to explain why Dewey.

Because this isn’t just another place to get ice cream.

We wanted to bring a little piece of Delaware agriculture to the beach.

My husband is a third-generation Delaware farmer. Our family has spent generations growing food from Delaware soil, and I’ve spent much of my adult life trying to find creative ways to make sure agriculture has a place in Delaware’s future.

The Frozen Farmer has always been part of that mission.

And now, someone visiting Delaware on vacation can walk off the beach, through our doors and get a literal taste of Delaware — homemade ice cream inspired by and made with ingredients grown right here on our family farm.

We could have opened a scoop shop anywhere.

We chose Dewey because we wanted this one to feel unmistakably Delaware.

Homemade ice cream. Homegrown ingredients. A third-generation family farm. And one crazy farmer who took imperfect fruit all the way to Shark Tank and somehow convinced Lori Greiner to believe in it, too. 😂

We’ve worked incredibly hard for this day.

There have been late nights, early mornings, setbacks, victories and plenty of moments when I wondered if we’d actually pull this off.

After getting home just around midnight from a long day of work in Dewey and a few blinks of sleep, this morning I woke up and didn’t have to wonder anymore.

TODAY, WE OPEN. ❤️

Come see what we’ve been working so hard to bring to Dewey Beach.

Come grab a scoop or a donut. Bring the kids. Bring your beach crew. Build an ice cream cookie sandwich. Try something made from ingredients grown right here in Delaware.

And come help us write the very first chapter of The Frozen Farmer Dewey Beach.

Tell Me Tuesday 📚

Last week’s Where am I Wednesday was the Little Free Library and painted rock garden on Cullen Street, ocean block side.

Walking that part of Dewey feels like a different world, doesn’t it? Pine trees, adorable A-frame houses, quiet streets, and some stunning larger homes tucked in along the way.

Take a book, leave a book — and maybe take a little stroll while you’re there.
