So glad that these two oil paintings among other paintings found new homes at the show. The first one is close to my heart since it is the pond at the Jenkins Arboretum which is right in my backyard and so I decided to paint big. It’s a 36”x48” canvas and was quite challenging to paint that big 😊 # oilpainting .

Just finished a 5 week class titled, “Moving Along with Watercolor” in their beautiful studio 2 overlooking the cherry blossoms in the background 😊. I will be offering the same class starting next Wednesday the 22 nd at 9:30 am. This will also be a step by step guided class painting different subjects in each class. Built in 1905, the Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion is a 120-year-old, Indo-Saracenic style heritage building located on the University of Mysore’s campus in Mysuru. I had the privilege to paint this magnificent building which is being restored into a Folklore museum

Nandi, the Bull statue in Mysore is a 350-year-old, 16-foot-high, and 24-foot-long monolith located half way up the Chamundi Hill which is an extremely important landmark in Mysuru. Growing up, we used to travel by train every summer to visit my grandparents and the view of this hill was our cue that our final stop was approaching very soon. 😊
We had to ask permission from the priest to paint here.

On Day 2 we went to this iconic site in Mysore which is now in the process of getting converted into a museum and visitor center. The old Deputy Commissioner (DC) office in Mysuru, known as the Gordon House or Attara Kacheri, is a 127+ year-old heritage building completed in 1895. We found a quiet triangle where we knew we will not get overwhelmed by the buzzing traffic around us. The key again is to start very early in the morning

As I get ready to travel to India next week for three months, I wanted to share this painting — a scene of Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world along the sacred Ganges River. 🌅✨
I’m feeling incredibly grateful for everything this year has brought me: the lasting friendships made through my travels, the teaching opportunities that have filled me with purpose, and earning Signature Status with NWS — truly the icing on the cake. 🎉
Here’s to carrying this gratitude forward and hoping the coming year is just as exciting, inspiring, and full of growth as this one has been. ❤️🙏

Today my students learnt the importance of value studies in my Watercolor Basics and Beyond Class at Wayne Art Center. We also had fun experimenting with textures and brushwork. 😊.
