Happy Mother's Day!
Some of you may be aware that I was asked to perform at a brunch in honor of Mother's Day on Friday morning. The week before, I put a whole bunch of cool new songs in my repertoire for the occasion. I recorded a few of these to share yesterday:

In all transparency, I am much more comfortable performing live than recording videos.... but some of these songs are very meaningful. I choked up on a couple of them. Maybe if you take a listen, the same songs will have some meaning for you (and you will forgive my flaws).
I have been adding songs to YouTube when I get a chance. It's not about being famous or getting tons of subscribers (though I don't mind having interested subscribers). As I age, I keep thinking, "I am not sure how much longer I will be (or be able to) do all the singing I keep up with today. Through my lifetime, I have learned thousands of songs. And a few years ago, I gave up trying to remember all the lyrics - though I suppose if I challenged myself.....It's a possibility.
I love to talk a little song history or about related song memories. On YouTube, I consider my song descriptions a "mini blog". Music is a joy for me and most of my audiences. That makes it meaningful as I perform it, but what happens to all that music I have learned and shared through the years? Perhaps one day my legacy will be to help someone find that song they've been looking for as a sentiment for a loved one. Or maybe some kid in the future wants to hear about and learn some music from the past. Who knows?
