Deals deals deals! We will be out here from 9am - 3pm this Saturday, June 27 as part of the Rosedale Park 60 Block Yard Sale! Come shop heavily discounted ceramics seconds, various furniture treasures, artwork, vintage wares and thrifty finds at close out prices. Have enough stuff already? We’ll have an art supply swap and clothes mending station running all day or grab a $1 cup of coffee and hang out on the porch and listen to records.
Proceeds all go to the Rosedale park improvement association’s scholarship fund

Happy to be hosting these dear ones under the magnolia tree again this year at the plant swap pottery sale 11-5pm May 9th.

About the artist:
Virginia Rose Torrence (b. 1991, Midland, Michigan) received her BFA in Craft/Ceramics from the College for Creative Studies in 2013 and her MFA in Ceramics from Alfred University in 2016. She co-owns and teaches at Ceramics School in Hamtramck, MI.

Henry James Haver Crissman earned a BFA in Craft from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI in 2012, and a MFA in Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, NY in 2015. He is an adjunct professor at the College for Creative Studies. He co-owns and teaches at Ceramics School in Hamtramck MI.

Avery has been a consistent contributor and organizer of our events and lived at Glastonbury for many years. Beware* her pots have been known to target cool mom audiences.
About the artist:
Avery Campbell is a ceramic sculptor based in Detroit’s east side. After graduating from Wayne State University with a B.A. in Art History and Ceramics she attended residencies in Europe that sparked her passion for sculpture. Avery is inspired by primitive and folk pottery and she enjoys making simple organic shapes. Avery is one of three Glaze Technicians at the Historic Pewabic Pottery and loves being part of Glastonbury Collective events. In her free time, Avery continues her practice in clay and dabbles in fiber, exploring everyday objects and furthering her work in sculpture.

About the artist:
Jose Arenivar-Gomez is a Mexican ceramics artist and educator based in metro Detroit. He sees his utilitarian ceramic work as experiments and explorations of form and glaze that inform his sculptural work. He likes to consider comfort and intimacy when coming up with his designs. Jose received his BFA in drawing at New Mexico State University in 2015, and his MFA in ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2018.

About the artist:

Lexie Piet is a ceramic artist currently living in Detroit’s Eastside. Lexie’s passion for ceramics began after high school when she took a pottery class at OCC. Lexie is a primarily self taught ceramicist and has been working and teaching in local studios for over a decade. Lexie likes to use textures inspired by nature and decay, making things that are cute and creepy. Lexie has been the lead glaze technician at Pewabic Pottery since 2021 and makes out of her home studio. When she’s not working you’ll probably find her spending time with her dogs or taking a nature walk through a cemetery.

We are long overdue to have Mitch and his pots at one of our events, but it will be worth the wait! You better believe we will be adding his work to our collection:)

About the artist:
Mitch Segall is the owner and proprietor of Central Ceramics Company. CCC is about slinging handmade wares that beam with color and can be put to use on the daily. The look and feel is inspired by the vibrant, Chichicastenango textiles of Central America and the rich, earthy tones of the woodlands of the central United States. While they are thousands of miles apart, both regions radiate the spoils of working with your hands and appreciate the beauty found in the natural world.
Mitch has nearly 20 years of experience in the ceramics field including production work, teaching, and personal work. He looks forward to expanding his business and continuing to learn and grow as an artist.

We were fortunate enough to have Christina join us for our summer residency last year and I think her pots match the kind of energy she brings, grounded yet full of joy and light 🌞
You can find her work at the plant swap pottery sale in the Glastonbury greenhouse gallery May 9th from 11-5pm :)

About the artist:
Christina Zardus, got her start picking magnolia petals in her childhood backyard and pretending they were teacups. Still following the path of play and making, you will find Christina creating functional ceramics, teaching classes through Sugar Hill Clay Studio
in Detroit, or on a picnic with her daughter. Christina was a former 2025 summer resident of the Glastonbury Collective.

We have some new faces this year! Help me in giving a warm west side welcome to artist Joshua Kochis and his pots at this year’s plant swap pottery sale on May 9th from 11-5pm!
About the artist:
Joshua Kochis is an artist from Southeast Michigan. He has always had busy hands and can’t throw anything away. He makes public sculpture, mixed media installation, furniture, objects, and images inspired by our relationship to the natural world. He works primarily in wood and ceramics, often using found objects and salvaged material. He has been slip casting for Pewabic Pottery’s vessel department since 2017, teaches mold making classes in their education studio, and occasionally runs independent glazing workshops at local community centers. Joshua is based on the far east side of Detroit.
