Very thankful to have been a part!
On Nov. 5th 4 years ago, the very first Anatomy event took place. From our humble beginnings throwing after hour events at The Russell Industrial Center with locals to packed out venues, multiple collaborations, & hosting some of the top techno artists in the scene, it's been an incredible journey thus far.
When I () first started Anatomy I wanted to fill a void in the Detroit scene for the harder shades of techno, which later expanded to include other styles of forward-thinking techno as well. It's been amazing to watch the scene grow over the years and see the impact Anatomy has made here.
I've had multiple opportunities to sell out and host some of the biggest commercial artists where I could've cashed in & made a huge profit but I've continually refused to, even at the expense of some events not doing so well. While it can certainly make things difficult generating consistent profit, I will continue to choose to maintain the integrity of this brand and what it stands for.
The comments and feedback that I often get of how memorable some of these events were from artists and attendees alike, and how Anatomy has made an impact in their life is one of the things that keeps this alive.
One of my favorite parts of being a promoter are also all of the Detroit debuts we've had for artists and memorable experiences with them, I've lost count of how many we've had now!
Thank you to every artist, venue, volunteer, media/staff, agency, and attendee for your trust as well as support, and working with us or supporting these events.
It's certainly not been without it's struggles though, so I'll be revamping things on the back end soon & building an official team so I'm no longer one person doing a majority of the work or most of the day to day operations.
We won't have any more events this year but we will absolutely be back in 2026!!!
