Looks like we have a new layer coming in. It's honestly about time lol. We had gotten rid of the roosters and it seemed like the girls said yep break time, then a heavy molt, the heat... 🙄🙄. The duck girls have been laying, our youngest should start soon as well.

Hoping this egg is out of one of the 5 that will be our cocoa eggers and deep olive eggers group. Can't wait to add to that bunch for sure.

Everyones enjoying the cooler weather. The turkey hens were feeling a little fiesty yesterday evening. Tom is trying to figure out that dangler on his face 🤣. We also had a visitor, Mr Walkingstick, not sure if it's the same one from last week or not. If not this will be 2 close together. Better start choppin that wood folks.

What are some of your favorite wild game recipes?? Also just every day recipes or snacks?? High protein definitely welcomed. For sure a sweets/chocolate loving home 🤣🤣. Love a good brownie, or chocolate chip cookie. Even better if you can cook it in a smoker or on the grill.Cast Iron and Flat Top too. Drop them in the comments below. All cuisine welcome. Oh, oh almost forgot... We have again decided to change our name page... Due to circumstances, and the fact that we will be covering more than little pips and seeds. My sister actually shared the idea and I couldn't help but remember a little giggle and glimmer. Our grandpa made soup and I always loved it, it was the best type of soup, for a cold or just a cold, rainy/snowy day...

It would be snowing and cold.... Grandpa and Grandpa mostly heated with wood, 1 or 2 woods stoves going at a time lol. And grandpa likes a good HOOOTTT fire... 😅🤣🥵🥵. But oh was it nice after packing in wood, and helping him take care of all the critters. The first step put on a fesh snow, being cold and going in to sip on that soup through out the day. Grandpa would get up really early to stoke up the fire and and get that soup going, by 9 or so it was ready to go, we would be up there for breakfast, granny made the best eggs and bacon and coffe.. yes we got a little cup of decaf coffee with some sugar and a couple vanilla wafers. This soup had everything but the kitchen sink in it😅😅, it as so dang delicious. I believe we now all make our own version of it. Which I love because they are all so close but there's just that one thing that's missing. Grandpa will be 92 this year, still one of the strongest men I know. Grandma has since passed away. She was one heck of a woman. 🥰🥰💜💜💜💜❤️❤️

So lets hear all these recipes or stories. If you're allowed 🤣🤣.. I'll be getting all the goods soon to make a pot of soup very soon.

Finally getting some much needed rain. Those rain drops aren't slackin at all either lol. Hopefully longer than a quick shower, but we don't need gallons dumped all at once.... Some thunder but nothing major.

Sorry to anyone with hay laying out at the moment, totally understand the aggravation. Also to those who are still in a drought. We're sending rain vibes your way.

The ducks are happy 🦆🦆🦆, the chickens didn't mind the drizzle.

When would you all rather deal with storms? Day or night, evening or morning? 🌥🌥⛈️⛈️⛈️🌤🌤🌥🌥

Personally... I love evening and night storms so much, but only if they aren't going to be extreme or severe. I do love watching them move in though.

The clouds dark and broody.. Heavy like wool. The shift in the wind, sometimes soft and subtle, other times harsh and bitter. Thunder so loud you feel it rumble, lightening dancing across the sky small, delicate. Angry. It brings the smell of rain and dirt finally meeting.. The cool breeze that moves through, just enough to give you a shiver. The shy going from different blues, to grey, so dark you couldn't find a color to match, sometimes getting hues of greens mixed through. That stillness in the air, the quiet... The peace.

Nothing like starting your day off by filling your crocs with duck pool water 🤢🤢.

Back story, all the property is at an incline, just enough to make things unlevel enough to test your patience and sanity at times 😅🤣. We've been chasing shady spots for the water buckets, tubs and pool. Finally found a spot for everything, with one down fall... There's just enough of a dibit, on the back side of the pool where it comes rushing back as you flip it over 🤦‍♀️. Usually I miss it...

On our morning walk this morning I thought to myself, I'll take care of it this morning so no need to worry about it this evening, we can top it off. Well the dogs were rough housing and playing, I was dumping, one of the turkey poults came swooping in.... I missed the checking of the water run to make sure all was clear haha.. At 6 months old they are catching some air and distance even at short take offs lol.

Happy Wednesday everyone lol. This week is moving and I'm here for it. Ready for that cooler weather coming in next week 🤞🤞.

Happy Monday everyone.

This cooler weather had everyone feeling frisky and froggy this morning 🤣🤣. But dang does it feel so good not to be sweating as soon as you walk out.

Toms practicing to put the moves on the ladies, the young roosters are trying to woo the pullets and hens and getting a beat down 🫣🫣, they apparently haven't minded having zero roosters to bother them the last month or so lol.

Our lavender bantam cochins are growing out beautifully. They like hanging with the turkeys still.
