Music for All DSM We are a grassroots advocacy movement dedicated to ensuring youth access to music and culture in Des Back us on Kickstarter!

Young music fans in Des Moines are prohibited from entering most music venues holding an active liquor license after 9pm. By preventing a large segment of music fans from participating in the local music scene, the current ordinance negatively impacts the culture of Des Moines and ultimately affects our economy as a whole. Most of all, this restriction affects YOUR quality of entertainment offerings by diverting touring acts and by reducing the audience and funding for current musicians and the artistic community. Des Moines city code (Sec. 10-8, Article E) needs an amendment to eliminate the non-alcohol revenue requirement. In exchange, strict monitoring and enforcement mechanisms should be established to keep underage patrons safe in establishments with liquor licenses.
