welcome to the world, little book. very grateful to still be writing poems, putting those poems into a book, and publishing those books. I’ll Leave A Light On for You was born out of a profound love that took me many years to understand and accept. if you like poems about fruit, music, summer, and other whimsical things you may dig this.

very thankful for all the early love this book received. for anyone who has ever read my work, messaged me, bought a book, or interacted with my work in anyway trust that I am incredibly humbled and grateful. writing is a gift and I hope I’ve carried it well all these years.

if you happen to be local (Des Moines), I’ll be having a book launch event this Friday. there are no-cost tickets available for those who may prefer them. looking forward to reading some poems in front of people and rambling somewhat coherently about various things.

in 2 weeks this book will be out in the world. I spent countless hours listening to the same few songs on repeat writing I’ll Leave A Light On for You; stayed up far too late too many nights; and read a billion poems better than the ones in this book. I loved every second of it. my only hope is that love is apparent when reading this book. I’ve been writing poetry since well before I knew what poetry meant to me. now I know poetry is wonder, whimsy, and appreciation. I hope some of that comes through as well. I truly gave this book everything. 🫶🏼
