Meet DCMF Executive Director Alix Corboy!

Alix Corboy has been involved with the Denver Chamber Music Festival since its inception, helping shape its artistic vision and community impact from the very beginning.

She has been a driving force in Denver’s arts community for more than a decade, most notably through her visionary leadership with Friends of Chamber Music (FCM). Over the past 12 years, she has served in numerous key roles—including President of the Board and Chair of the Music Committee—guiding FCM’s mission to bring world-class chamber music to Denver. As Chair of the Music Committee, Alix expanded the organization’s programming to feature more diverse artists and underrepresented composers while fostering partnerships with schools, libraries, correctional facilities, and shelters to bring live music to audiences across the city. Her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion has left a lasting mark on both FCM and Denver’s cultural landscape.

A classically trained pianist with degrees from Temple University and the University of Denver, Alix has performed widely as a chamber musician and educator, including with The Playground, Augustana Arts, and the Denver Philharmonic. Before moving to Denver, she taught at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and held leadership roles in development at the University of Pennsylvania and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. Beyond her work in music, Alix serves as Vice-Chair of Development for Mile High Early Learning and is a passionate advocate for Denver’s homeless and immigrant communities.

We are thrilled to welcome back violinist, and now as our first ever composer-in-residence, Tessa Lark for the 2026 season!

Hear Tessa’s music featured on all three festival concerts — June 9, June 12, and June 13 — including the world premiere of her brand-new cello quartet written especially for the Colorado Cello Quartet!

Violinist Tessa Lark is one of the most captivating artistic voices of our time, consistently praised by critics and audiences for her astounding range of sounds, technical agility, and musical elegance. Increasingly in demand in the classical realm, in 2020 she was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category. She is also a highly acclaimed fiddler in the tradition of her native Kentucky, delighting audiences with programming that includes Appalachian and bluegrass music, and inspiring composers to write for her. In addition to her performance schedule, Tessa is the newly minted Artistic Director of the Moab Music Festival. She also continues her work as Artistic Director of Musical Masterworks, a chamber music series in Old Lyme, Connecticut.

Tessa has performed with orchestras, recital venues and festivals around the world. She has appeared with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra; BBC Symphony Orchestra; the Stuttgart Philharmonic and the Indianapolis, Knoxville and Seattle Symphonies; as well as being presented by Carnegie Hall, New York’s Lincoln Center, London’s Wigmore Hall and Barbican Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Cal Performances, San Francisco Performances, the Seattle Chamber Music Society, Australia’s Musica Viva Festival, and the Marlboro, Mostly Mozart, and Bridgehampton summer festivals. Lark is a recipient of the Hunt Family Award, one of the Lincoln Center’s prestigious Emerging Artist Awards, as well as a 2018 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant. She was Silver Medalist in the 9th Quadrennial International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and winner of the 2012 Naumburg International Violin Competition.
