Big news we're beyond proud to share: Trevor is joining Michael in taking Liberty by Any Means all the way to Africa!

Trevor has also experienced incarceration, and now dedicates his efforts to several organizations with the mission of restorative justice. He is thrilled to be joining Michael in bringing this Grapefruit Lab original to the International Restorative Justice Gathering in Ethiopia.

We've increased our fundraising goal to cover both of their room and board, plus the full cost of bringing the performance to Ethiopia. Every dollar goes directly toward getting these two artists there and making sure this story gets told the way it deserves.

A year in the making, and it finally came to life thanks to our amazing ACT Ensemble team! 🙏

12 Angry Men at Limon Correctional Facility wouldn’t exist without the amazing facilitators who showed up week after week to build this with the incarcerated artists who brought it to the stage.

Everyone carried a different piece of this production, including directing, crafting the sound score, creating costumes, providing pizza and everything in between.

👉 None of this happens without collaboration, and we are SO grateful for every hand that helped make this production a success!

What audiences are saying about Liberty By Any Means 🙌

We want to say thank you to everyone who came out, and stayed present for something hard and honest. This piece exists because of Michael's willingness to tell his story, and because audiences show up to discuss the injustice of solitary confinement.

👉 Now we want to take Liberty By Any Means further. Michael has the opportunity to bring this work to the International Restorative Justice gathering in Ethiopia, and we need help getting him there.

Donate at the link in our bio to support his travel and help this story reach a global stage!

We asked audience members to share their experience watching ACT Ensemble perform 12 Angry Men at Limon Correctional Facility, and we are filled with gratitude.

This is what happens when people are given the tools, trust, and space to create.

And this is the power of theater making you forget that you are inside of a prison.

👉 Programs like this don't run on good intentions alone. Donate today to help sustain arts programming in Colorado prisons to support future productions like this!

Help us get Liberty by Any Means to Ethiopia! 🇪🇹

We are thrilled to announce that Michael Clifton and Grapefruit Lab have been invited to bring Liberty By Any Means to Addis Ababa this November, an international gathering held during International Restorative Justice Week.

👉 The piece asks a direct question: what happens when a justice system loses its capacity to restore, and only knows how to punish?

That question sits at the center of America's mass incarceration crisis. A purely punitive model doesn't make anyone safer, it just continues the cycle. Restorative justice offers a different premise: that people can leave a system in better shape than they entered it.

Every dollar toward this trip puts that argument, and this piece, in front of the people building that alternative.

THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far, we have raised $2,170 raised already and we need your help to get us to our goal!
