Blackwork on dark skin. Clean lines, strong contrast, and details that speak for themselves.

Tattooing darker skin isnā€™t the problem. Not knowing how to work with it is.

The Tattoo Machine Myth Beginners Believe

Buying better gear doesnā€™t automatically give you better hands.

At the Golden State Tattoo Expo, I asked Gara what he thinks is one of the biggest lies tattoo apprentices believe.

His answer: thinking the most expensive tattoo machine is going to make you tattoo better.

Good equipment matters. But technique, repetition, control and understanding what youā€™re doing matter a lot more.
