A banana duct-taped to a white wall — or an acclaimed piece of art, depending how you look at it — sold at a Sotheby's auction for $6.24 million Wednesday.

Maurizio Cattelan's "Comedian" is simply a banana stuck to the wall with a strip of silver duct tape exactly 160 centimeters from the floor.

The artwork debuted at Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2019 and was initially estimated to sell for $1.5 million, according to Sotheby's.

I'm trying to free my mind, release some tension, and take a break from pulling weeds. LOL although I need to clear some ground to plant the strawberries and vegetables. 😀 Yes, time to plant!
I also have to have time for art, music, and work. However, I did start chiseling on some flagstone a couple evenings last week and dulled every chisel I used! I think i need better chisels. Haha

I was pulling some weeds at the very back of the yard, and noticed how the late afternoon light illuminated the California War Chief Irises.
They are like dark chocolate and port wine during the day, and all the more lovely in the evening light pictures don't do them justice.

It's that time of year. The Irises are coming up to say hello! I'm looking forward to see some more of the new strains I added last season a couple from the two seasons before that which are just opening this year. 😀 Slow pokes!
