Getting ready!

We are just one week away from when entries are due for our annual community art contest! Artwork can be submitted anytime we are open.

Artwork due by 5 pm on Sept 2.

OPENING RECEPTION
Friday, Sept 4
Come and go 5-7 pm
Join us in celebrating all of the entries in our art contest. Plus, there will be a special exhibit in the East Gallery: Loretha Riales Retrospective Show. Meet the artists. Visit with other guests. Enjoy some light refreshments. Applaud the winners during the awards ceremony at 5:30 pm. Maybe even find a new piece of artwork for your home or office.

People Gourd type.

I am not Hispanic, however the concept of honoring the dead and having a special day for it is something that resonates with me.

My natural mother's passing at age 22, when I was 3 mos old was not often discussed for many reasons.

I love the fact that this cultural holiday is widely celebrated and has such a rich history.
