🐍 VOICES FROM THE KREWE
Nicolas Carmona | Voice of Silas Piper
This week’s voice from the Krewe is Nicolas Carmona, who first crossed paths with Tongue of the Serpent author and artist Loveday Funck when he joined the Something Else improv team.
That connection started onstage, with shared scenes, strange premises, split-second choices, and the kind of trust improv builds very quickly. We feel incredibly lucky that Nico decided to bring that same creative spirit into our strange little band.
Here’s Nicolas in his own words:
“Originally from Colombia, I’ve spent the last half of my life in Louisiana, where I live with my amazing wife and two beautiful daughters. By day, my career centers on analysis and programming, but off the clock, I’ve always been drawn to all things nerdy, from Dungeons & Dragons and deep-reading to video games and improv.
Joining the voice cast for Tongue of the Serpent and performing with my two improv teams, Something Else and NerdProv, gives me the ultimate creative outlet. It lets me merge my inner nerd with my artistic side and brings a rush of inspiration to everything I do.”
Nicolas now lends his voice to Silas Piper, a musician who survived the Hungry Bells and came back changed, carrying their resonance in his bones. Silas is charming, reckless, funny in the face of danger, and never quite as safe as he seems. His music can become refuge, warning, or invitation, sometimes all at once.
There’s something especially fitting about an improviser stepping into Silas’s shoes. He’s a character built around instinct, rhythm, risk, and the occasional decision that probably should have been reconsidered several seconds earlier.
We’re very glad Nico chose to wander into the Krewe.
